Drug Awareness
The Elks National Drug Awareness Program is the largest volunteer-led initiative in the United States, working to prevent youth substance abuse through education, community engagement, and inspiration. Since 1982, the Elks have partnered with federal agencies and national organizations to combat the dangers of illegal drugs, alcohol, and prescription drug misuse. Through their nationwide network of Lodges, the Elks are dedicated to helping young people lead drug-free lives by providing educational resources, hosting events, and serving as role models in their communities.
Community Outreach
Since its inception, the Elks Drug Awareness Program has been rooted in community. By partnering with agencies like the DEA and SAMHSA, the program stays at the forefront of addressing drug abuse in neighborhoods nationwide. Volunteers distribute literature, participate in local events, and create a supportive environment where families can learn about the importance of living drug-free.
Empowering Through Education
Education is at the core of the Elks Drug Awareness Program. With more than seven million pieces of literature distributed annually, along with educational trailers, Marvel comic books, and prevention tools, the Elks equip communities with the knowledge to combat drug abuse. These resources are tailored to different age groups, providing families with essential information to keep their kids safe.
